This one is just about as open to interpretation as it gets. Found and manipulated sounds from Brian Green, with Milltown, on A Giant Fern. I say open to interpretation, because this tape straddles the line between field recording, ambient, and noise,... and I'm not quite sure which it aspires to be. Or if it aspires to be anything other than what you interpret it to be. Lots of ghostly whispers, ambient melody, and clanging and banging. Given that the entire composition is comprised of sounds recorded in a textile mill in South Carolina, a really incredible amount of musicality is achieved. I'll be the first to admit to being skeptical of field recordings, but there is more than enough of a musical presence here to satisfy my desire for melody and direction.
