Massive, electro infused drone compositions from Good Willsmith, with Is The Food Your Family Eats Slowly, on Hausu Mountain. Spaced out progressive electronics, looping vocals, sampling, and sustained rumbling passages of guitar. The Chicago based three piece combines a sense of the meditative and somber with frantic overwhelming crescendos. The six track album plays entirely unbroken (save for the flip) shifting seamlessly between tones and instrumentation. It’s a massively patient approach to song construction that requires equal parts restraint and aggression. An ability to deliver loud and heavy, and still leave the listener an interpretive space in the mix. Sounds like an alien prayer to a 10,000 foot amplifier monolith.
