Flux is a 2LP retrospective of 1981 experimental electronic work from Robert Turman, released by Spectrum Spools. Each side represents roughly a single track, each following a minimalist aesthetic of light percussion and carefully placed key patterns from various sources. All of it sounds warm, immediate, and really, quite charming. Each track dances with mechanical syncopation and precision, and yet still maintains a simplistic warm melodic sound. If additional justification were necessary to maintain the legitimacy of analogue playback, this recording would suffice.
The pressing is absolutely fantastic, perfectly black backgrounds and exceptional clarity. 2LPs housed in poly sleeves inside a single jacket. Still available from Discriminate.
